One doesn’t have to look hard to find that Sengoku Basara and Strike Witches have a lot in common. They are both historical period pieces that completely do away with any semblance of accuracy. Both are very straightforward shows that succeed on the strength of their production and the severity of their fanservice. That fanservice, a sort of nudity on the part of the entire show, is what I will now explore.

Sex is treated as a pretty big deal in storytelling. It, more than anything, seperates the mature stories from the lesser-mature ones, and creates depth in characters by it’s mere existence. Especially in anime, it’s one of the biggest character traits – after all the important moments in an eroge are the ones that get you into bed with your girl. Relationships are most defined by whether or not those involved are fucking or not. What we know about a character’s sexual experience is one of their biggest defining characteristics, even if that experience is none, and adverse reactions can be expected. When I look at Sankaku Complex’s galleries, I almost always realize that I’ve seen most of the images before on my infinite porn journeys. I thought, ‘I could do that, too!’ However, unlike Sankaku’s extremely broad topics of images, I will be doing much more specific ones. For instance, today I give you a Konata x Kagamin gallery. I strongly support this yuri pairing, and naysayers can shut the hell up. I hand pick my images, naturally, so I picked the ones I like best, whether for their erotic quality or a story they tell to me. Samayou Midara na Lunatics episode 1 recently came out and I gave it a shot. I have to say, I was pretty impressed. Lunatics is pretty refreshing since it actually features straight, consensual sex, and with only 1 couple. Now, there is the factor of the girl screaming ‘onii-chan!’ the whole time, but hey, these days that could mean sister, half-sister, or simply childhood friend – and with no subs, that’s up to your imagination! Mizugi Kanojo was pretty much an instant failure for me, and I didn’t even watch most of the episode after the first sex scene. This comes down entirely to a matter of personal preference. I’d like to talk today about my personal favorite hentai anime (besides the holy grail, Hatsu Inu), Alignment You! You!. It’s an insane romp through rape, futanari, murder, and a ton of fun. I’ve always hated rape in hentai when it takes itself seriously, but AYY pretty much makes light of everything and is only interested in having an insane, stylish, and fun ride. |
