The first decade of the formerly-new millennium is coming to a close, so it’s natural that everyone wants to have a go at recollecting it. The biggest trend so far has been talking about some of your favorite, or otherwise all of the noteworthy shows you saw this decade. I thought about doing that, but I realized there was a bigger fish to fry. I’m not just going to talk about some shows I liked – instead, what I have done is compiled a list of every single worthwhile anime of the past decade. I will now take a few paragraphs to explain to you how this was possible.

Genres are always a tough subject to discuss because they are based on the decisive reasoning of a group in an attempt to classify something and thereby give it a place in the greater database of human thought. Genre debates are a pain in the ass because many people seek to diversify the definitions of a genre, which doesn’t make any sense because the entire point of a genre title is to be absolute and objective. The first episode of Kampfer is great – a load of fun, a casserole of laughs, at least one or two kinds of badass, easily the best Nomad production since Rozen Maiden, and part of the growing yuri trend in anime. That said, let’s admit the truth: this is a show about female domination. It goes beyond just having a mostly-female cast and plenty of fanservice – this show is putting an effort into placing the pussy on a pedastal that the male gender is far too weak to reach. Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan is a pure fanservice comedy anime with a style similar to the likes of Macademi WAsshoi, Moetan, Asu no Yoichi, or Kanokon. That said, it is very aware of itself as such, and for being what it is, does a satisfying job of good, fun entertainment for those of us with lower standards. I’m going to go ahead and guess that you haven’t seen Maze the Megaburst Space, and if you have, you are probably very excited that someone is actually talking about it. It’s one of those shows that aired in the 90s and got licensed long ago, but largely forgotten to the point that it’s scarce fans don’t even bring it up anymore, even if they probably really enjoyed it. And I wouldn’t have seen in either, were it not for some folks in the Amazon marketplace trying to get rid of some stock. Even shorter and more absurd! We decided to toy around with special effects and produced something amazing. The editor’s hard work played the biggest role in this. Make sure to watch in HD!
