DigiBoy's Collection 1: The Depths of My Regret (OR Buyer's Remorse: The Shit I Wasted Money On, As Raped By Krauser II)

When a normal person sees a high-power-level collection, they will invariably remark on how you have ‘wasted a lot of money on this crap’, and a proper fan will usually reply that it ‘isn’t a waste.’ I wish I could say that, but the truth is that I own a few things that I truly regret buying. Organized, here, in order of how much I spent on this shit. Needless to say, they are all figures, and therefor I will depict each of them being raped by Funeral’s Krauser II Revoltech, a 25-dollar toy with more value than all the shit I’m carting out combined. Ugh. These are the mistakes of my youth.

Finish or Fail 6 - Saki - The Meaning of Moe

So, on to Saki. I loved this show a lot while I was watching it, and I can see myself rewatching it in the future, as well as greatly looking forward to a season 2! (Don’t let this be like Bamboo Blade where they show the new opponent right at the end and then go a year and a half with no word of a second season in sight!) As far as the production goes, it was great. The whole thing was very well done, but the character designs and character animation were altogether utterly astounding. I can safely say that Saki ranks among the very top of my considerations for the show with the best character designs. Every character was distinct and lovingly crafted so that no one looked like less time had been spent on them or anything. Each design melded in with the characters’ personalities effortlessly, making them just that much more memorable and easy to appreciate.

200 (+) Anime Worth Taking With Us Into the Next Decade

The first decade of the formerly-new millennium is coming to a close, so it’s natural that everyone wants to have a go at recollecting it. The biggest trend so far has been talking about some of your favorite, or otherwise all of the noteworthy shows you saw this decade. I thought about doing that, but I realized there was a bigger fish to fry. I’m not just going to talk about some shows I liked – instead, what I have done is compiled a list of every single worthwhile anime of the past decade. I will now take a few paragraphs to explain to you how this was possible.

A Date With "Tama-chan" - Screaming "Otaku!"

So, I got bored and wrote a pair of four-koma comics, both of which, in retrospect, feel an awful lot like Mistakes of Youth comics, only with the woman replaced by a very pissed-off bald guy and the artistic talent being replaced by very scratchy pen. The first one is more or less a true story, because Fakku uploaded this Tama-chan doujin today (NSFW) and I’ve been waiting for everyone to go to sleep so I can look at it >.> (in case there’s any confusion, Tama-chan = Tamaki Kawazoe from Bamboo Blade). As for the second one, I’m sure we’re all aware of Russian lolis by now? At some point, thinking you can handle anything is going to end up handing you something that keeps you from sleeping for nights on end…

100 Characters For 100 Otaku (Part Seventeen: 20-16)

I feel like we’ve reached the final stretch of “100 Characters For 100 Otaku” as we enter the top 20! From this point on, the characters gain a very real importance to me. We’ve been on a steady incline of character importance, but now there’s a very steep jump into characters that I truly love. So let’s see what they have to offer! We’re rolling 20 down through 16!

100 Characters For 100 Otaku (Part Ten: 55-51)

It’s the halfway mark in “100 Characters For 100 Otaku!” Did you think we’d make it this far? This is certainly the biggest post series I’ve ever done in one time-span! But it’s still very exciting! Today we’ll have numbers 55 down through 51 and things continue to get more exciting! Let’s see what’s in store!

Chara Design of the Week: Kawazoe Tamaki from Bamboo Blade

Tama-chan’s personality is not easy to define. At first, she seems like the usual emotionally distant silent girl (a la Rei) but she is really more comparable to Ruri-chan from the very similar anime, Martian Successor Nadesico. Tama-chan really isn’t distant on purpose, she just doesn’t exactly grasp the concept of friendship. All she knows is kendo. Her past interactions with fellow humans simply hasn’t elicited much of an emotional response or connection with her.
