H Review – Samayou Midara na Lunatics ep 1 – Straight Sex (NSFW) (18+)

After two futanari-fests, it’s about time I reviewed some regular ero anime. Samayou Midara na Lunatics (or Lunatics as I shall henceforth abbreviate it) episode 1 recently came out (not yet subbed, sorry), and I gave it a shot. I have to say, I was pretty impressed. Lunatics is pretty refreshing since it actually features straight, consensual sex, and with only 1 couple. Now, there is the factor of the girl screaming ‘onii-chan!’ the whole time, but hey, these days that could mean sister, half-sister, or simply childhood friend – and with no subs, that’s up to your imagination!

Lunatics begins with a very adorable picture show using crayon pictures to tell a story involving a royal family that meant nothing to me without subtitles. We then enter a castle where the main girl (above on the left) gets out of bed and is walking around in her nightgown. It’s a dark night and she’s got big titties. She is clinging to some kind of vile full of sparkling pink liquid. The girl leaves her room and heads down the hallway toward another room. Inside is a big, cliche rich-people bed upon which lies the blond guy above who may or may not be her brother.

The girl stands at his bedside a moment and he seems to be like paralyzed or sick or something and she seems to be worried about him, I don’t know, if I’d had the volume over my music I might have caught some of that. She drinks the vial which I guess makes her horny as a motherfucker and then she gets into bed. She immediately begins servicing the guy, which wakes him up. The guy initially appears to be in rage over this, however he cannot move for some reason (curse? something?) Anyway the girl gives him an absolutely amazing blowjob. Seriously, it was glorious. Mostly because of the beautiful face she makes afterward.

After that we get a brief bit of exposition where we see that the girl was at some fancy ball party when she met a mysterious woman out on the balcony who gave her the vial of pink shit. Then the fucking commences, and I have rarely seen so believable a virgin.

After cumming inside of her, the prince remembers some random shit about their past.

He manages then to get all of his strength back. He pushes the girl onto her back and gets ready to show her how real fucking is done! The sex scene that commences lasts the rest of the episode (making the second half of the ep pretty much a nonstop sex scene).

Anyway they cuddle and look all happy afterward. Meanwhile, outside on a rooftop, they are watched by a menacing-looking woman in a cloak. However, we won’t know what that’s all about until episode 2.

Animation-wise, I couldn’t help but feel that Lunatics was a little bit more ambitious than it had the budget to be. The studio who made it, called Pixy, seems to be a subsidiary of lilith-soft who makes the original versions in (i assume) game form. I felt as though the anime was probably crafted quite lovingly by people who were pretty proud of it, but didn’t have the kind of budget to make it shine quite like they wanted.

One of the first things I noticed animation-wise was some very nice background work. I definitely loved the way the castle looked and it had a very Type-Moon feel to it (which I will be mentioning again in a bit.) I also thought there was a great use of lighting and skin tone, which is a nice plus. However, the entire thing is heavily marred by some incredibly jerky looped animation. Now, ero anime is pretty much always chocked full of loops, but in this one, they aren’t totally circular – like there should have been an extra frame or two to complete the loop. And this is almost constant in all the sex scenes. It was extremely disappointing since I would have only had minor complaints about the animation otherwise.

Said complaint being that the parts where sex didn’t occur were unecessarily drawn out. I put this as a part of animation because those drawn out parts tended to be stills that remained still for too long for no real reason. However, there was more than enough sex that I could turn a blind eye to this. I only wish that the sex could have been smoother! The sheer length of the sex scene ensures that there are plenty of angles and positions to delight anyone, barring that they like the character designs and general concept of straight, consensual sex.

One definite plus for Lunatics was the character designs which, once again, had a very Type-Moon feel to them. I almost wanted to call it a ‘cash-in’ but decided I didn’t have the background info to make such claims. While I can’t say much about her body type (I tend to like smaller boobs, but hers didn’t bother me) i found the girl’s face to be very cute and I like the way her hair complements her eyes (whatever the fuck that means.) She’s cute when she blushes and cuter still when her face is covered in cum after the happiest blowjob in the history of time. In any case, it’s certainly not a design I’ll be forgetting about (ho-ho!).

I very much enjoyed this episode of Lunatics if just because there is a drastic lack of cute, consensual sex out there in ero, and I hope this doesn’t just become a rape-fest in episode 2. I thought it was a lot of fun and the girl was extremely cute. Had the god damn loops just been better it could have been a potential favorite.
